Gladiolus – from the Latin word “gladius,” meaning sword –symbolizes strength and moral integrity. Gladioli also represent desire, with a bouquet transmitting to a recipient that they strike the giver’s heart with passion. Striking and colorful with towering stems, this August birth flower is favored for its beautiful, showy flowers. Its flowers grow on tall spikes, which have many different colors (such as red, pink, white and multicolor), and grow between 2 to 6 feet in height.
